How does my child join the Competition Cheer team?
Any Sideline Cheer participant is eligible for the Competition Cheer team. There are no tryouts because we compete as a "recreation" team and not "all-stars"
What is the cost of Competition Cheer?
Competition cheer costs vary season by season. The total amount depends on the cost and number of competitions the squad participates in. Most in-season competitions are $12-$15 per cheerleader, per event. The online registration total we have listed is a rough estimate of the season cost but not the bottom line. Each participant will need to pay the separate $125 sideline registration and will be additionally responsible for purchasing the shoes, bloomers and hair-bow needed to complete the uniform and any competition fees.
What does the cost cover?
The cost of Competition covers insurance, uniform rental, purchasing shoes, bloomers and hair-bows, and in-season competition registration fees. Additional costs for championships, exhibitions and post-season competitions may arise throughout the season.
How can I offset the costs of Competition Cheer?
Payment plans are available for the sideline registration and in-season competition fees. Additionally, the team can hold various fundraisers outside of the time-frame of the in-season football/cheer fundraiser to raise money for uniform items (shoes, bloomers, hair-bows), championships and any additional post-season competitions or items the team may need. Fundraisers ARE NOT ALLOWED to cover in-season competition registration fees or the sideline registration fee.
How long does the Competition season run?
We start conditioning in July with the sideline cheer squad and begin separate practices in August. Competitions are held on Sundays and typically start early to mid September and run through the middle of December. Post-season competitions, exhibitions and other events may be on various days of the week and run through spring.
How much time is involved in Competition Cheer?
All Competition Cheerleaders are also Sideline Cheerleaders so a great deal of time is involved. Coaches try to work together to keep practices on the same days, one starting after the other finishes; however, this may not always be the case. Between Sideline and Competition you may practice 2-4 days a week, have games on Saturdays and Competitions on Sundays. Competitions are an all-day event with check in typically beginning around 8 am and awards finishing up around 2-3 pm.
